Dean Zhang Zhitao of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Dean Chen Yuanping of the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering, along with the heads of administrative offices from related colleges and attending guests participated in the sub-forum, which was chaired by Dean Chen Yuanping.
The forum proceeded with three topics. First, Zhang Zhitao and Chen Yuanping presented reports on the conditions of their respective colleges to the attending guests, covering aspects such as the history of college development, faculty strength, discipline platforms, and research characteristics. Following this, Wang Guixian and Zhu Guojun, representatives of the attending guests, gave academic exchange reports. After the presentations, the two deans engaged in thorough exchanges and discussions with the guests, addressing issues of concern such as talent introduction policies and the growth of young people one by one.
The Party and administrative leadership of the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering has always placed a high priority on the introduction and cultivation of high-level talents. Among the talents introduced over the past three years, 83% of the doctoral degree holders have been awarded National Youth Funds, Jiangsu Provincial Youth Funds, and Postdoctoral Funds. One doctoral degree holder was awarded all three of these funds simultaneously, placing the college at the forefront among secondary units of the university in terms of the number of awardees. Additionally, one doctoral degree holder has been appointed as a Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu, another has been selected as a Young Scholar of Macao, and yet another has been named a Jiangsu Shuangchuang Doctor. Under the care and attention of the college’s Party and administrative leadership, young people have grown rapidly.
